This body of work is ongoing and includes individual works on paper created in response to the Covid-19 Pandemic. What began as a tool to process my own emotions during these strange and surreal times became a vehicle to connect with others. As the pandemic has slowly normalized , effects of 2020 continue to reveal themselves. . These works will continue to document our ever changing world.
POSTCARD PAINTINGS
I have been creating small works since the early 90s . I am drawn to the intimate nature of these pieces which are a sort of window or portal . This ongoing body of work began as postcard sized mixed media collages on paper or canvas. The postcard paintings were my first works of art . They often included text and hand drawing as well as bits of fabric and found papers ; a kind of visual letter or invitation to explore the world inside the layers.
